Flag Raising at API Ensenada

Ensenada, Baja California, November 20, 2020 - In the framework of the 110th Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution, early in the morning, the General Director of the Integral Port Administration (API) of Ensenada, Captain Manuel Fernando Gutierrez Gallardo, presided over the civic ceremony to hoist and render honors, for the first time in this entity, to the National Flag, which is a symbol of union of all Mexicans.

The Presidium was attended by Adm. Hilario Dur án Tiburcio, Commander of the Second Naval Region, Mtro. Adrián Arriaga Arteaga, Administrator of the Ensenada Maritime Customs, Cap. Heriberto Santos Salinas, Maritime Director of the Merchant Marine Services Office (OSMM) in Ensenada, Capt. Daniel Antonio Maass Michel, Regional Port Captain and Capt. Ernesto Conde Coronado, Vice President of the Ensenada Seamen's Association, A.C.

The head of the API of Ensenada expressed to those present, the confidence, willingness to cooperate and full support to the federal government agencies with which from now on we will work in a close and coordinated manner. Emphasizing that defining the same course on board a single vessel will give us the strength to overcome the reality that some of our country's ports are facing today; this will avoid duplication of functions and waste of resources, and will allow the Mexican state to reinforce international commitments and standards, as well as guarantee maritime and port security and safety.

The Mexican revolution generated a constant change in the political, social and economic life of our country, but evolution is not possible if we do not rely on learning. He expressed that, "it is a great satisfaction and confidence the attendance of both authorities and representatives of the private sector, because it symbolizes the will to work as a team and to navigate with the same direction, in accordance with the reforms to the organic laws of the federal public administration, navigation and maritime commerce, and ports".

The meeting was attended by representatives of the state's Port Captaincies, naval personnel from the Second Naval Region, Naval Unit of Port Protection 21 of the Ministry of the Navy (SEMAR), XXIII Ensenada City Council, H. Ensenada Pilots Corps, Ensenada Marine Association, Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SAGARPA), National Service of Health, Food Safety and Quality (SENASICA), International Health Jurisdiction Ensenada, Ensenada Cruiseport Village (ECV), Ensenada Tourism and Sport Fishing Owners.
