Entering into Port Services Contracts (Individuals and Legal Entities)

Individuals or legal entities of Mexican nationality with full capacity to enjoy and exercise.

What are the requirements?
Only when hazardous waste management requirements apply.
- Permits and authorizations of the provider updated by semarnat for the collection and transportation of hazardous waste.
- copy of the valid permit for the federal freight transportation service in the specialty of hazardous materials and hazardous waste of the vehicles used to provide the service.
- In the event that the provider subcontracts third parties for the transportation of hazardous waste, he must present a letter of commitment in which the obligation to jointly and severally respond for any damage that may be caused during the provision of the service at the port is stated.
- Submit liability insurance policies for vehicles authorized by api to enter the port for the collection of hazardous waste.
- Provide the name of the technician in charge, who must be present at all times during the provision of the service, as well as any substitutions made in this regard).
- Documentation certified and/or issued by semarnat, profepa or authorized institution, which certifies that the technical responsible and the personnel have been trained in the handling of hazardous waste.
- Provide procedures for the provision of the service and contingency plan for emergencies.
- Submit a specific safety and hygiene program for the handling and transportation of hazardous substances.
- Submit a copy of the environmental liability insurance policy covering possible damages and damages caused by spills of hazardous waste in water, soil and port infrastructure. For a minimum amount of $1'000,000.00 pesos.
Only when material handling (fuel) requirements apply.
